Gautrain passengers catch bus

Gautrain passengers had to take the bus on Car Free Day yesterday, when the trains went off line.

Bombela spokeswoman Kelebogile Machaka said the train stopped due to "electrical faults" between 4pm and 5.45pm.
The company had to transport passengers between Sandton and the Rhodesfield stations by bus, as the trains weren't running on this line. They could then take the train for the minute-long trip to OR Tambo Airport.
Machaka could not provide details of what was wrong with the train, but said it was not the first time the service experienced problems.
